Making Marketing History, Combs is the First Mogul to Star in 2 Mega Billboards in the Iconic World Landmark
Late last year Diageo, the world’s leading spirits, wine and beer company announced the ground-breaking strategic alliance between Combs and Cîroc vodka. Under the terms of the deal, Combs and Sean Combs Enterprises will take the lead Cîroc brand management activities, while sharing in the future profits of the growth of the brand. This exclusive U.S., multi-year collaboration, which calls for a 50/50 profit split, is a first for the spirits industry and could be worth more than $100 million for Combs.
“New York is my home and Times Square is the center of everything, the center of celebration. This is just the beginning. I won’t stop until I own every billboard in Times Square,” said Combs.
The groundbreaking alliance with Cîroc vodka, one of the world’s only vodkas made from grapes, focuses on the “art of celebration,” a concept Combs embodies and cultivates both personally and professionally as a lifestyle and entertainment icon.
“Sean Combs has a proven track record of developing high-end brands and his alliance with the Cîroc brand is quickly following suit,” said Debra Kelly-Ennis, Chief Marketing Officer, Diageo North America. “What better place to enhance the luxury profile of Cîroc vodka than amongst the best theatres, cinemas, hotels and restaurants in the world, an area that is the very symbol of New York City.”
As part of Combs alliance with Cîroc vodka, he is taking the lead on all brand management activities, including marketing, advertising, public relations, product placement and events.
